BARBARA COSIMATI, a native of the Mesilla Valley, is proud of her New Mexico heritage and her life long involvement in the agriculture industry. Her family home is part of the Mesilla Civil Colony Land Grant. For many years she coordinated widespread family farm and ranch interests in Dona Ana and Luna Counties, developing necessary accounting and research skills. She has worked with the Department of Agriculture, Department of Interior and the State Land Office. Hands on (working) knowledge of local water rights, Extra Territorial Zoning, county permits, engineering and coordination was gained while developing a portion of the family farm into a residential sub-division.
Barbara and her husband, Robert, have two children, five grandchildren (one deceased) and nine great-grandchildren.
