Steinborn & Associates Real Estate Team seeks THE SLIGHT EDGE!
Amy Hummer, Steinborn & Associates Real Estate, started a book club within our office. The purpose of this club is for members of our team to take part in ongoing growth, development and encouragement from their team members. After reading each book, the club members meet and share their reviews and insights with each other.
The first book of 2012 was: The Slight Edge: Turning Simple Disciplines into Massive Success by: Jeff Olson. This book was a hit and highly recommended by the members of the Steinborn & Associates Book Club.
Jeff Olson takes basic concepts but articulates them in such a unique, thought provoking and motivational manner. After reading the book, you will gain a new or re-discovered understanding on what it takes to achieve your goals. Many of the book club members, including myself, stated that this book was one of the best motivational books read in our lifetime.
It's not about hitting the home run but rather hitting singles on a consistent basis that makes the difference. Now an occasional home run is great but not the secret to long-term success. Consistency, consistency and consistency is the secret. Within most industries, and in life, the steps to successful outcomes are not arduous but rather easy. But then why do people fail? Because the things that are easy to do for success are just as easy not to do.
For example, if you read 10 pages a day from different books, you would have completed an average of 10-12 books in one year's time. It is not hard to read 10 pages per day. However, it is just as easy not to read 10 pages per day. Take this same principal to your own personal and professional goals and you will be amazed at your results and/or understand why you fell short.
Read the book. It is terrific! It is not your typical goal setting book. It is truly unique and Jeff Olson is a masterful writer.
We just started our second book of 2012: The Referral Engine: Teaching Your Business to Market Itself by: John Jantsch.
Until the next blog review of our book club, happy reading!

Spot on review of the book John. I'm generally not a fan of self help books but this one gets to the core of success vs. failure regardless of how big or small your goal is.

I read on regular basis from an average of 3-4 books a month on a variety of subjects. I will participate in the next book club meeting. Knowledge is GcOLDEN.

Think Amy's on to something and it should prove to be rewarding. Looking forward to the next gathering of the club. Appears to be relevant and informative
