His professional experience includes 17 years as a hospital executive. As the developer and founding CEO of Las Cruces' second hospital, MountainView, he and his family made the decision to make Las Cruces home. He is committed to the growth of our community. His community leadership includes Chairman, Mesilla Valley Economic Development Alliance, Board Member - Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce, Commissioner - District One, New Mexico Department of Transportation, Board Member, First Community Bank, Co-Chair - Mesilla Valley Hospice Capital Campaign.

He is married to Amy Carmichael. They have two sons Alex and Sam. They are active in St. Albert the Great Catholic Church and are "avid" Aggie fans.

John is a licensed broker in New Mexico, received his Certified Real Estate Broker (CRB) designation and is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).
