With sprawling pecan orchards, stunning views, and a plethora of wineries, the South Valley is the epitome of Southern New Mexico living. This area offers all the privacy and space of rural living with close proximity to the communities of Las Cruces, Mesilla, Sunland Park, and El Paso.
The South Valley is clustered around Highway 28, one of the most scenic drives in the area. This two-lane highway passes through miles of pecan orchards, cotton and alfalfa farms, and quaint, small towns like San Miguel and La Mesa. As part of the NM Wine Tour, this road boasts several vineyards including Sunland Winery, La Vina Winery, and Sombra Antigua Winery. Kids will enjoy a stop at the La Union Corn Maze, and the iconic Chopes Bar and Café in La Mesa is a must stop for authentic New Mexican tacos and chile rellenos.
